A Fairy-Tale Beginning
In the September afternoon sun, the splendid Corbinaia Estate provided the backdrop for a fairytale wedding between Royal Ballet princess Yasmine Naghdi and Riccardo Ghezzi, an Italian director in a renowned private equity firm. Their love story, which commenced five years ago in a London nightclub, reached its pinnacle in a captivating ceremony amidst the picturesque hills of Tuscany, surrounded by vineyards and breathtaking landscapes.
Meticulously orchestrated by a wedding planner from Happening by Mascia Scardigli, the event transcended the ordinary, with many details curated by Yasmine's mother, Sabine. The Royal Ballet was not only represented by its distinguished director, Kevin O'Hare, but also by acclaimed ballerinas like Marianela Núñez and Laura Morera. The atmosphere came alive with the melodies of a string quartet, seamlessly blending classical and contemporary notes, while personalized olive-colored fans were distributed to combat the warmth of the occasion.
Harmony in Melody and Atmosphere
Emotions ran high during the terrace ceremony, where Yasmine's sister, Tatiana, donned an olive-green Reformation silk dress by Greek designer Kostas Kargakos as she escorted the groom. The ceremony, officiated by the mayor of Montespertoli, featured special moments, including a poem recited by Yasmine's sister and sage marital advice from the bride's mother.
Two Dresses, One Princess
Yasmine graced the occasion in two dreamy dresses from the renowned Ukrainian fashion house, Milla Nova, discovered through the pages of British Vogue. For the daytime affair, she chose an elegant ivory Mikado satin gown with a ruched bodice, complemented by Christian Louboutin white satin heels and Van Cleef & Arpels gold vintage Alhambra jewelry.
For the evening, she switched to another Milla Nova creation – a white minidress adorned with 3D flowers – paired with Louboutin sandals. Riccardo, on the other hand, exuded charm in a navy blue two-piece suit with diamond-encrusted cufflinks, a precious gift from his mother.
Yasmine's natural beauty was enhanced by a subtle self-applied makeup, showcasing her skills honed as a Royal Ballet principal. For her hair, she entrusted the expertise of Maurizio Nelli from Ciro Via delle Terme Hair and Beauty Salon in Florence, featuring a center parting, soft waves, and a white satin ribbon serving as a hairband, with the veil gracefully attached on top.
Following the heartfelt ceremony, guests enjoyed a poolside cocktail reception before settling down for dinner at sunset in an enchanting space lit by candlelight and crystal chandeliers. The menu, a sensory delight, included dishes like risotto, courgette flowers, porcini mushroom pici pasta, and filetto di manzo al Lardo di Colonnata, accompanied by a selection of white and red Chianti wines.
The newlyweds opted for a round millefoglie wedding cake with Chantilly cream and strawberries, prepared in front of guests on the Square of the Sphinxes. Illuminated arches and cold spark fireworks heightened the celebratory mood.
Unforgettable First Dance
Yasmine's ballet background and the presence of her colleagues added a touch of anticipation to the couple's first dance. However, it turned out to be an unforgettable moment enjoyed by all, set to the tune of "Perfect" by Ed Sheeran and Andrea Bocelli, a favorite of the couple.
Joyful Celebration into the Night
The evening concluded with guests dancing the night away, while Yasmine changed into a pair of personalized bridal Converse trainers featuring laces printed with "Mrs Ghezzi."
Adding to the enchantment, the magical moments of their wedding, along with stunning captures, found their way onto the pages of Vogue UK, immortalizing the affair in the eyes of the world.
Reflecting on the entire experience, Yasmine likened it to preparing for a major dance performance. "To gear yourself up to perform in front of thousands of people, you have to get into a calm headspace," she shared. "It was really interesting that I applied the same sort of mentality for my wedding, and it turned out to be the most beautiful, rewarding experience with all of the people that I love." An enchanting wedding in the magical Corbinaia Estate, an unforgettable chapter in Yasmine and Riccardo's love story.
